How to manage number swaps in the Admin portal

Number swap on Users in Admin portal

In the Admin Portal you're able to swap both the landline and the mobile phone numbers for Swedish users.

To be able to do this you first of all need to have Administrator rights to access the Admin portal.
You will also need the reserved numbers you wish to change to and if you don't have any reserved numbers in your environment, you will need to either order new numbers or port in a new number.

Follow the step by step guide below:

  1. Click on Users.
  2. Click on License and number.
  3. Select the account you wish to swap number(s) on.
  4. Click on the menu with the three vertical dots.
  5. Choose if you wish to change the landline number or the mobile number.

In the window that appears you have to choose a reserved number that you wish to swap the current number to and also when you wish for the number swap to be done. If you are swapping to a reserved number that you already own you can either choose to perform the swap at once, or on a specific date. If you choose a specific date the swap will be performed at 00:01 on the given date.

If you are instead swapping to a number that is being ported you will have the options to either perform the number swap on the date of the porting, or on a chosen date after the porting is done.

Please note

  • At the moment this is only available for Swedish users.
  • It's only possible to edit one user at a time.
  • Any current call forwarding will continue to point to the old number (redirects/transfers from other numbers to the one you are swapping will still redirect to the same number, as the transfer is to a specific number and not a user).

Number swap on PBX services in Admin portal

In the Admin Portal you're able to swap landline phone numbers on PBX services in the Admin portal.

To be able to do this you first of all need to have Administrator rights to access the Admin portal.

You will also need the reserved numbers you wish to change to and if you don't have any reserved numbers in your environment, you will need to either order new numbers or port in a new number.

Follow the step by step guide below:

  1. Log in to the Admin portal
  2. Navigate to PBX services.
  3. Select the Table view in the top right corner. 
  4. Choose Name and Number in the right side panel view.
  5. Select the service you wish to swap number on.
  6. Click on the menu with the three dots and then click on Change landline number.
  7. In the window that appears you have to choose a reserved number that you wish to swap the current number to. 
  8. When done click on Swap number and the number swap will go through directly.

Please note

Any existing call forwarding will still direct calls to the original number. This is because call transfers are set to a specific number, not to a user and will not automatically update when the number is changed.

Good to know

  • PBX services can only be edited one at a time.

  • It’s not possible to swap to a number while it’s being ported. Any numbers under porting will not be visible/available in the number swap list.
